Joel Farabee is being eyed by the Rangers as a potential trade target as the NHL season progresses and the trade deadline approaches
Philadelphia: So, there’s been a lot of chatter about Joel Farabee from the Flyers lately. Ever since the off-season, folks have been speculating about his future, and it seems like that buzz is only getting louder as we inch closer to the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline.
A recent piece in The Athletic by Arthur Staple highlighted ten players the Rangers might be interested in, and guess who made the cut? Yep, Farabee. The Rangers started the season strong, but things have taken a nosedive lately. They’ve only snagged two wins in their last ten games, which is rough.
Because of their struggles, the Rangers already made a big move, trading away their former captain, Jacob Trouba, to the Ducks. With that $8 million cap hit gone, they’re in a good spot to shake things up and could really use some help in their lineup.
Now, trading Farabee could be a double-edged sword for the Flyers. He’s a young guy with a lot of potential, and the fact that the Rangers are in the same division makes it a risky move. Still, it’ll be interesting to see if the Rangers make a serious play for him this season. If not, other teams will likely be keeping an eye on this 2018 first-round pick.
