Four Giants players earned pre-arbitration bonuses for their impressive 2024 performances, just in time for the holiday season
San Francisco: So, guess what? A few Giants players just got a nice little bonus for their hard work in the 2024 season. It’s like an early holiday gift!
Four players snagged a slice of MLB’s $50 million pre-arbitration bonus pie. Patrick Bailey topped the list with a cool $471,042. Not too shabby, right? Tyler Fitzgerald, Ryan Walker, and Heliot Ramos also got some nice amounts.
In total, 101 players shared in this bonus pool, and eight of them even scored over a million bucks! This whole bonus thing is part of the league’s agreement, which is pretty neat.
Basically, if you’re a player and you win big awards like MVP or Cy Young, you can get some serious cash. The bonuses are funded by all 30 teams, so it’s a team effort to reward the top performers.
Oh, and just a heads up, players can only get one bonus a year, but it’s for the highest award they qualify for. Last year, the Giants had two players earn bonuses, so it’s great to see them doing well again!
