Kiké Hernández shares his close call with suspension after dropping an F-bomb during a live interview following the Dodgers’ playoff victory
Los Angeles: So, Kiké Hernández was riding high after the Dodgers beat the Padres in the NLDS. He was feeling pretty good, maybe a bit too good.
Fast forward a couple of months, and he spills the beans about that infamous F-bomb he dropped on live TV. Turns out, it almost got him suspended!
During a postgame chat with Ken Rosenthal from Fox Sports, he was asked what made this Dodgers team special. He cheekily asked if they were live and then blurted out, “The fact that we don’t give a f***.” Classic Kiké!
Surprisingly, that uncensored clip is still up on Fox Sports’ MLB account. You’d think they’d take it down!
In a chat on LeBron James’ show, “The Shop,” Kiké revealed the league wasn’t thrilled with his choice of words. He was facing a suspension that could’ve kept him out of the NLCS, but thankfully, his agent and the MLB Players Association stepped in.
He did get fined, though, and his apology? Well, he admitted it was a bit half-hearted.
Hernández said, “I did get fined for that. I was going to get an even heftier fine and a game suspension, but having a good agent helped. They got rid of the suspension and lowered the fine a bit.”
He felt his answer was honest, but he didn’t mean to drop the F-bomb. He thought there’d be a delay when he asked if they were live. Spoiler: there wasn’t!
Good thing he was available for Game 1 of the NLCS, where he went 2-for-4 and helped the Dodgers crush it 9-0. And yes, they went on to win the World Series!
Kiké has always been a key player for the Dodgers, especially with his defensive skills. He had a solid postseason, hitting .294. Now, he’s a free agent, and there’s talk about him possibly returning to the team.
