At the end of last season, it looked like the Mets might not go after him because of the market. But now, it sounds like they’re feeling more optimistic. Manaea had a solid year, with a 3.47 ERA and a career-high 32 starts. He really enjoyed his time in New York and has said he’d love to return.
Of course, there’s competition for his services, but if they can get him back, it would be a huge win for their rotation. They’ve already added his buddy Frankie Montas and former Yankees closer Clay Holmes, so things are looking up.
