New York: The Mets have just signed Jared Young, a 29-year-old infielder, to a one-year contract. This move is pretty exciting for the team and fans alike.

Last season, Young played for the St. Louis Cardinals’ Triple-A team and also spent some time in South Korea with the Doosan Bears. He had a solid run there, hitting .326 with 10 home runs in just 38 games.

While with the Redbirds, he played 74 games, hitting .285 and adding 11 home runs to his stats. He’s shown he can hit well in different leagues, which is a good sign for the Mets.

In his brief stint with the Chicago Cubs in 2023, he didn’t hit as well, but he’s got potential. He made his MLB debut in 2022 and has been working hard to improve since then.

Young was picked by the Cubs in the 2017 draft, so he’s been in the game for a while. It’ll be interesting to see how he fits into the Mets’ plans this season.
