Washington: So, Michael Soroka just signed a $9 million contract with the Nationals for the 2025 season. They really need some solid pitching as they’re trying to rebuild. Soroka used to be a big deal back in 2019 when he was an All-Star, but he’s had a rough time with injuries since then.

Last season, he struggled with the White Sox, going 0-10 with a 4.74 ERA. Ouch! The White Sox had a terrible season overall, finishing with a record of 41-121, which is just brutal.

This signing is a big move for the Nationals, especially since they’ve had a couple of rough seasons lately. They’ve been stuck with a 71-91 record for two years in a row now, and it’s been five seasons since they won the World Series.

Can you believe none of the players from that championship team are still around? It’s a whole new era for them. Soroka had a fantastic 2019 with the Braves, going 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA, but then he got hurt during the 2020 season and it’s been a tough road since.

He missed two full seasons and only pitched a bit last year. The Braves traded him to the White Sox in November, and now he’s with the Nationals. His new contract has some cool bonuses too, like cash for making the All-Star team or winning awards. Let’s hope he can bounce back!
