The Baltimore Orioles have signed Tomoyuki Sugano to a one-year deal after his impressive MVP season in Japan’s Central League
Baltimore: Big news for Orioles fans! The team just signed Tomoyuki Sugano, a talented right-handed pitcher from Japan. He had an amazing MVP season in Nippon Professional Baseball.
This deal is for one year and worth $13 million. Sugano is 35 and has spent over a decade with the Yomiuri Giants. Last season, he was on fire, finishing with a 15-3 record and a stellar 1.67 ERA.
Throughout his career, he’s been pretty impressive, with a 136-74 record and a 2.43 ERA in 276 games. He’s also snagged MVP honors in 2014 and 2020, so he knows how to perform under pressure.
Plus, he’s an eight-time All-Star! Remember the 2017 World Baseball Classic? Sugano pitched against the U.S. and only gave up three hits in six innings. Talk about clutch!
