Peter Laviolette emphasizes the need for the Rangers to show more heart and accountability as they struggle in recent games
New York: The Rangers have been on a rough patch lately, losing a bunch of games and looking pretty lackluster while doing it.
In their last 12 games, they’ve dropped nine, and honestly, it feels like they’re just going through the motions without any real fight.
They seem down and out, and it’s clear something’s gotta give. Coach Peter Laviolette is calling on his players to step up and play with more heart.
He mentioned that the change has to come from within the team. “We need to play a better brand of hockey,” he said, stressing that everyone needs to take responsibility.
When asked about team unity, he pointed out that getting out of this slump requires everyone pulling together. “You get into these messes with everybody and you get out of them with everybody,” he added.
Right now, other teams aren’t scared to face the Rangers, and that’s a big problem.
Last season, they had a strong, physical presence that helped them win the Presidents’ Trophy. But this year? They’ve lost that edge.
Let’s hope Laviolette’s words spark some fire in the team, or they might be in for a tough season ahead.
