Brandon Crawford shares his plans post-retirement, hinting he won’t join Posey’s staff just yet, focusing on family instead.
San Francisco: So, Brandon Crawford just wrapped up his playing days, and there’s been a lot of buzz about whether he’ll join Buster Posey’s staff for the Giants. But guess what? He’s not jumping back into baseball just yet.
In a recent chat on KNBR, Crawford made it clear he’s taking a full year off to focus on being a dad and husband. He wants to soak up every moment with his kids and enjoy some family time. Sounds like a solid plan, right?
He mentioned that if he ever feels the itch to get back into baseball, it might not be until 2026. That’s a long way off! It’s kind of funny because Posey retired with similar intentions, wanting to spend more time with his family too.
Crawford has had an amazing career, winning four Gold Gloves and being a key player in the Giants’ World Series wins. So, it’s understandable that he’s not sure what role he’d want if he did come back. He joked about possibly helping out with coaching or advising, but he’s not keen on the daily travel that comes with it.
For now, he’s enjoying his time at home and is in no rush to jump back into the game. Who knows what the future holds? But for now, it looks like Crawford is all about family.
